SaLTinPuertoRico Service Activities

SaLT has partnered with nonprofit organizations in Puerto Rico to ensure that all volunteer projects are properly supervised, equipped and successful.

Students will work with ongoing hurricane relief projects in the communities of La Perla and Miramar.

They will also join efforts to reforest the El Yunque Forest.

Damaged Properties

Since Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico still has a sizable need to improve the conditions of many properties.

Opportunities include working with one of the following:

  • Clearing vacant lots and damaged homes
  • Painting houses
  • Repairing houses / property

Environmental

Puerto Rico is a beautiful island at one with its environment. As result, many community organizations have been working tirelessly to ensure the region’s environmental sustainability and success.

Opportunities include working with one of the following:

  • Planting trees and native plants
  • Removing invasive species
  • Testing air, water, and soil quality
  • Supporting conservation efforts
